Here we go again. You found my little nook on the intertubes. I'll try and post some interesting items mostly around the sci-fi/tech geek space. Maybe even share a tip or two. Feel free to browse around and if you find something useful, drop a note. You can send me mail at (myfirstandlastname) at gmail.com.

You’re a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock, hurtling through space. Fear nothing.

I did some research on this quote. The original author is actually unknown, but this piece has evolved into countless variations via internet-assisted natural poetic evolution over the years. As a result of the authors copying and recopying it with slight variations over time there are now numerous variations of this quote in books, bathroom walls, text messages, tweets, and more. The first known internet sighting I uncovered was in 2001 with “You’re a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust.” (via shivian)

I know I've posted this before... but it's such a great video. When you put it all on the line and your idol says - "YES."

Some people say it was staged. I like to think when you work hard, are determined and the right opportunity presents itself... you take it.

I created this pre-planning tool because I'm an ultra planner when it comes to Disney Vacations. In order to get the best experience possible out of your vacation, you really need to PRE-PLAN and be on top of ALL the scheduled dates for planning, have backups to your dining plans (if and when they sell out) and have a strategy for FastPass+ reservations. You need to take advantage of extra magic hours, be mindful of special events (e.g. Mickey's Very Merry) and simply know what your Plan A, B, C and even D will be WHEN things get full.

There are plenty of itinerary planning resources out on the intertubes. DisneyWorld.com even has their My Disney Experience planning area which is an invaluable companion to this pre-planning tool. This is not meant to replace that. In fact, if you plan on using this tool, you will need to modify it yourself to suit your vacation needs.  This PRE-PLANNING tool helps you visualize all of the activity you want to have and have your alternates in place. Then, you'll switch to something like My Disney Experience for your actual visit. This helped me understand how much we were doing, not be oversubscribed and to have a planning strategy for when it came time to actually book items.

How to use this tool:  Open up the "Dashboard" tab and enter your vacation dates. In the example provided, this family is going to arrive at WDW for 1 night, go on the cruise ship, then spend a week at Walt Disney World. The nice thing about entering your dates here is that all of the important dates are automagically calculated and displayed below. You'll see when you can book dining, FastPass+, CruiseShip activities, etc. On the DisneyCruise and Disneyworld tabs, you'll basically see a planning grid.

I use a simple color-coded scheme with my planning:  Yellow Box / Red Type is Planned but unconfirmed activity Green Box / Black Type is Confirmed activity (reservation # in My Disney Experience) Blue Box / Black Type is Confirmed Park/Cruise general activity.  Basically, anything in red is unconfirmed. Anything in Green/black is confirmed.

Feel free to make a copy of this spreadsheet for your own use.If you have any suggestions for improving, please send them along!Have fun in your planning!

And I will continue to say Fuck the NRA, because the NRA does everything it can to get weapons like the AR-15 into the hands of people who want to use it to murder other humans.

I said Fuck the NRA during the Dallas shootings because if the NRA wasn’t holding our nation hostage with its insanity, the person or persons who murdered those police in Dallas last night probably wouldn’t have been able to have such easy access to a weapon of quick, efficient, and easy killing.

A lot of NRA supporters like to go on and on about how everyone should own military-style weapons, so they can rise up against the government. Well, guess what, NRA? That happened last night. The police are part of the government, and someone did exactly what the NRA has been dogwhistling to its supporters for decades.

So fuck the NRA.
